Activity Report: Eco-Walk and Environmental Education at Kukkarahalli Lake

On 31st May 2025, Greens Trust India organized an eco-walk and environmental education session for college students at the urban ecological hotspot, Kukkarahalli Lake in Mysuru. The initiative focused on promoting awareness about sustainability, conservation, and the importance of preserving urban ecosystems.

Through this program, students explored critical environmental issues such as biodiversity loss, climate change, and habitat degradation. The eco-walk included interactive field experiences that enabled participants to closely observe local flora and fauna, learn about native species, and understand the ecological importance of micro-environments like Kukkarahalli Lake.

Environmental educators facilitated discussions on sustainable practices, eco-friendly habits, and the growing need for responsible environmental stewardship. Students actively engaged in dialogues and activities centered on waste management, water conservation, and the protection of local biodiversity.

This initiative successfully nurtured environmental consciousness among young minds, encouraging them to become proactive contributors to conservation efforts. By fostering a deeper connection with nature, the program inspired students to adopt greener lifestyles and to advocate for sustainable development in their communities. Greens Trust India’s efforts reinforced the message that small, local actions can lead to significant global environmental impacts.
